I'm Marta, professional conference interpreter and translator

Hi, my name is Marta, and I love my job

I am a professional conference interpreter and translator. My job is to facilitate communication between people and companies from all around the world with different languages and cultures. Pretty nice, eh?

When I lend my voice and words in Italian, English, or Spanish on an interpretation assignment, my favorite part is watching the foreign audience nod in appreciation as they follow along and understand the speaker's words that I have interpreted simultaneously. I also love seeing the parties shake hands at the end of a long, intense bilingual negotiation, made possible by my fundamental contribution.

This is why I love my job and am inspired to do it as well as possible, giving my clients solid results they can count on.

What I do

My curious nature has always inspired me to learn and dive deep into many seemingly unrelated worlds. I have always loved foreign languages, and through years of study and specialization, I have been able to turn my passion into my job.

I have great faith in the power of words and the effective communication of people expressing themselves in their own language. This is why I want to give my voice to your message in my working languages. I become your bridge of communication for events, negotiations, presentations, trade fairs and anywhere multilingual communication is needed.

But it's not just conferences and events for me. A substantial part of my work is written translation. Whether it is a notarial deed, a contract, a technical manual, or a creative project, I will rewrite your content in Italian, making the most accurate language choices that best fit your text's purpose.

The perfect job for me

I have been fascinated by learning languages since I was a child. Right after I graduated from university, I knew this was the right path for me because I fell in love with words and their infinite nuances of meaning in each language. My precise, exacting nature – some might say fussy – comes in handy when I have to make the best terminological choice, or when I spend hours figuring out the semantic differences between two seemingly synonymous terms.

Luckily, I am also outgoing. Public speaking doesn't scare me off! This is a big help in my work since I often have to interpret in front of a large audience. Other than a bit of adrenaline at the start – essential for working my best – public speaking does not scare me. In fact, I would say I prefer direct contact with my clients, such as meetings, press conferences, book presentations, and the like.

I am someone always seeking new inspiration, which makes the profession of interpreter and translator perfect for me. No other job could let me delve deep into new topics, learn about such a wide range of worlds, and discover things that I hadn't even known existed. I get the chance to continue learning and stay up on all the big news events near and far.

How I became an interpreter and translator

Becoming a conference interpreter and translator takes far more than just knowing one or more foreign languages perfectly. Strange but true!

Contrary to popular belief, this profession requires a great deal of preparation and terminological study before every assignment in addition to in-depth knowledge of the clients' language and culture. These are some recent highlights from my educational and professional career.
